ResMed S9â„¢ Series H5iâ„¢ Heated Humidifier with Climate Control Respironics System One 60 Series Heated Tube Humidifier with Heated Tube Respironics System One 60 Series Humidifier , Compatible with Heated Tube
ResMed's S9 Humidiare H5i heated humidifier provides advanced humidification, while preventing rainout from hindering CPAP therapy and affect compliance. With the H5i humidifier, set the level of humidity and attach the optional ClimateLine tubing to achieve a new level of comfort.
The PR System One 60 Series Heated Tube Humidifier with Heated Tube optimizes air stream humidification and reduces rainout while guarding against machine water damage. The humidifier considers room air temperature along with the airflow of the machine to adjust the humidification level. The Heated Tube adjusts in concert with the humidifier to maximum comfort, which helps to increase the success of the therapy.
This humidifier offers three levels of humidification (70, 80 or 90 percent) and the heated tube has five levels of temperature available, ranging from 4 to 16 degrees above the room temperature. These two features work together to deliver the optimum humidification level at the mask.
PR's Dry Box Technology is designed to trap water in the humidifier where it belongs, keeping it away from the machine. The one way valve on the air outlet port further guards against water exiting the humidifier.
The PR System One 60 Series Heated Tube Humidifier is compatible only with the following 60 Series Machines made by Philips Respironics:

System One 60 Series Heated Tube Humidifier by Philips Respironics- IN6T
Heated tube humidification has been out for a while now, but Philips Respironics has developed a new line of CPAP and BiPAP Machines called the 60 Series that has this great feature integrated into the machines. The heated tube humidifier provides you with humidity levels at your mask that equal the humidity being provided at the machine. This is important because many times, patient experience what is commonly referred to as "rainout" which is where the patient has excess moisture in the mask when waking up or even gets water dripping onto their face. The heated tubing keeps a consistant temperature level and allows for the patient to increase the humidity setting with having less of a chance of "rainout" occuring.
Respironics DreamStation Pro CPAP Machine Respironics DreamStation Auto CPAP Machine Respironics DreamStation Auto CPAP Machine

Expiratory Pressure Relief (EPR™)

Now a mainstay on ResMed machines, EPR™ is intended to make therapy more comfortable. Breathing out against full prescribed pressure can sometimes be uncomfortable. EPR™ steps in and helps by lowering the pressure by a set amount on exhalation.

AutoSet Response

Autoset Response is a comfort feature that can be enabled to provide more gentle pressure increases. If the machine detects a pressure increase is needed, the response feature will ease into the increased pressure to help those with lower pressure tolerance.

The ResMed AirSense™ 10 AutoSet CPAP Machine with HumidAir™ Heated Humidifier combines the proven technology of the AutoSet algorithm with the integrated comfort of the Optional ClimateLineAir Heated Tube. This is an auto titrating CPAP machine which adjusts the pressure on a breath by breath basis to deliver the minimal pressure needed to maintain the airway.

ResMed's advanced algorithm is proven to provide effective therapy on a breath by breath basis accounting for flow limitations. Pressure is smoothly increased over the duration of the limitation and decreases again when the event clears. This is beneficial for active sleepers who experience a great number of events when changing position during sleep. AutoSet Response is also available to make pressure increases even more tolerable and gentle. The AirSense™ 10 AutoSet can be set to automatically adjust or to a single pressure mode if desired.

HumidAir™ Heated Humidifier and Optional ClimateLineAir™ Heated Tube

The Humidair™ humidifier is built into the AirSense™ 10 machine making for a smaller overall footprint on the bedside table. Humidity level is easily adjustable from the My Options screen and offers 9 setting levels. Select 1 through 8 with 1 being the lowest level of humidification, and 8 being the highest, or turn the humidifier off entirely.

Add the OPTIONAL ClimateLineAir™ Heated Tube to optimize humidification with Climate Control's Auto function. The system considers the temperature of the room air to provide optimum humidification with minimal rainout condensation.

Expiratory Pressure Relief (EPR™)

ResMed machines offer EPR™ making breathing with a CPAP device more natural by adjusting the amount of pressure delivered during exhalation and inhalation. EPR can be turned off, or set to 1, 2 or 3 with 1 being the smallest change between inhalation and exhalation and 3 being the largest change in pressures.

LCD Display with My Options

The AirSense 10 AutoSet has a colored LCD display and easy to read menus. Select the menu item on the screen by turning the easy grip dial. Selecting the My Options menu shows the current settings and lets the user modify settings including:

The versatile Auto CPAP device can be used as a titration and long-term solution for your patients. The Auto is designed to deliver on-demand pressure. As sleeping habits can vary daily, the Auto uses a flow-based auto-adjusting algorithm to continually check for flow limitations, apneas, and hypopneas on a breath-by-breath basis. When an event occurs, the Auto algorithm begins to increase pressure until the obstruction clears or the maximum pressure setting is reached. Fisher and Paykel has a benchmark comparison of the ICON Auto and other auto-adjusting CPAP machines on the market.
SensAwake Technology
SensAwake is a pressure relief technology that addresses user intolerance for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure therapy. Comfort is critical during an awakened state, particularly for new users who have difficulty returning back to sleep when CPAP pressures are high. SensAwake monitors CPAP airflow and reduces pressure levels when respiration becomes irregular. Irregular breathing is a general marker that a user is transitioning from a sleep state to an awakened state. This personalized treatment prevents users from awakening and ultimately improves therapy effectiveness.
ThermoSmart Humidification & Heated Hose
Under normal circumstances the air you breathe is naturally heated as it travels through your nasal passages. CPAP therapy works against this natural humidification. CPAP airflow drys the nasal passages and can lead to congestion and mouth breathing. Typical heated CPAP humidification helps re-saturate therapy air, but effectiveness is restricted by ambient temperatures. As the room cools, most humidifiers cannot keep relative humidity levels at the mask, usually resulting in condensation forming in the CPAP hose. ThermoSmart Technology delivers custom levels of high humidity that are maintained throughout the night, regardless of ambient temperature. The ICON uses sensors that track ambient room temperature to reduce condensation.
To maximize the ICON's capabilities, Fisher and Paykel offer an optional heated breathing tube that works in conjunction with ThermoSmart Technology. This heated CPAP hose contains copper coils embedded in tubing and is 76.5 inches in length. These coils conduct heat and can provide a constant temperature throughout the hose. The optional ThermoSmart breathing tube virtually eliminates rain-out and condensation in a CPAP hose.

The AirCurve™ 10 S BiLevel Machine with HumidAir™ Heated Humidifier operates on a set, higher pressure for inspiration and a set, lower pressure for expiration. The machine's comfort features are designed to help the user adjust to the two delivered pressures. This is a bilevel machine delivering one pressure for inhalation and one for exhalation while monitoring the length of the breaths and responding to alter the timing as needed to maintain the respiratory cycle.

Features

  • Easy-Breathe Comfort Feature
  • Built-In HumidAir™ Heated Humidifier
  • TiControl and Adjustable Rise Time
  • LCD Displays with My Options
  • Enhanced Vsync Technology
  • SmartStart / SmartStop
  • SD Card and Data Storage

Easy-Breathe Comfort Feature

The Easy-Breathe feature on the AirCurve™ 10 S is designed to imitate a more natural breathing pattern. At the point of transition between the two pressures, a waveform of increasing and decreasing pressure is released to encourage a natural resting breath.

Built-In HumidAir™ Heated Humidifier

The AirCurve™ 10 S has a fully integrated humidifier built-in to the machine to supply moisture and a warmer temperature throughout the hose to increase therapy comfort. Using the My Options screen on the machine, the humidification level is easy to set. Numbers 1 through 8 are listed on the screen, 1 represents the lowest level of humidification, and 8 represents the highest. The humidifier is not required for therapy, so it may be turned off if it is not desired.

The addition of the OPTIONAL ClimateLineAir™ heated tube assists in maintaining the warm temperature throughout the hose to prevent Rainout as the environmental temperature changes.

TiControl and Adjustable Rise Time

The TiControl feature on the AirCurve S machine monitors the pattern of inhalation and exhalation, comparing it against the TiMax and TiMin settings on the machine. Those with respiratory disorders such as COPD or obstructive lung disease may experience early or delayed changes from inspiration to expiration, referred to as cycling. The 10 S BiLevel TiControl feature is designed to prevent cycling by setting a minimum and maximum time limit on inspiration. When the machine detects the user breathing which falls outside the machine settings, it will intervene to alter the timing of the delivered IPAP (inhalation) or EPAP (exhalation) pressure.

TiControl Settings:

  • Ti Max: Maximum length of Inhalation
  • Ti Min: Minimum length of Inhalation
  • Trigger: Sensitivity level for inhalation trigger
  • Cycle: Sensitivity level for exhalation

Adjustable rise time is similar to TiControl. Both features support the user's ability to breathe at the appropriate time. Rise time is designed for this bilevel machine to increase the range of time from expiration to inspiration based on the set time requirement. Please Note: The rise time should not exceed the time set for inspiration due to a required higher pressure at inhalation.

IMPORTANT FUNCTION NOTE: The AirCurve 10 S machine does spontaneously regulate the breathing pattern to avoid cycling which results in inefficient breathing. This machine DOES NOT deliver a breath on a timed basis. This machine is NOT a BiLevel ST machine and DOES NOT have a back up rate setting.

LCD Display with My Options

The AirCurve™ 10 S BiLevel has a color LCD display. The menus are designed to be easy to read and use. Select the menu item on the screen by turning the easy grip dial. Select the My Options menu to view and modify the current settings:

Enhanced Vsync Technology

If changes occur in mask pressure or the seal of the mask, Vsync technology is established to quickly detect the leak. Vsync leak management is developed by ResMed to track and control leakage and to relay accurate data in the instance that a leak arises. The goal is to provide the user with a factual estimation of airflow. Likewise, the differences in lung capacity can be determined by the Trigger and Cycle Sensitivity feature. The level selected reflects the respiratory effort of the user.

SmartStart™ / SmartStop™

The intuitive AirCurve™ 10 S SmartStart™ component automatically starts the device when the user breathes into the mask. The SmartStop™ component stops the device when the user removes the mask.

SD Card and Data Storage

The AirCurve™ 10 S BiLevel records the information about the sleep therapy, which can be downloaded onto an SD Card. The SD Card is installed in the machine at the time of shipment and must be in the machine before it is used.
